What would you tell your first-day-as-PM self?

If I could go back: get a mentor immediately. Find someone who is 3–5 years ahead of you in the same role and buy them a coffee once a month. Don't assume you can figure everything out alone — the job is more political, more emotionally demanding, and more isolating than any deputy role prepares you for. What is yours?
