## GP Practice Grievance Procedure
### Purpose
This procedure provides a fair and consistent mechanism for employees of [Practice Name] to raise workplace concerns.
### Informal Resolution
Employees should first attempt to resolve issues informally by speaking with their line manager. Managers should respond within 5 working days.
### Formal Grievance
If informal resolution fails, the employee submits a written grievance to the Practice Manager (or GP Partner if the grievance concerns the PM).
**Stage 1 — Hearing:**
- Minimum 5 working days written notice
- Employee has right to be accompanied
- Manager investigates and provides written outcome within 10 working days
**Stage 2 — Appeal:**
- Employee may appeal within 5 working days of Stage 1 outcome
- Appeal heard by a more senior person not involved in Stage 1
- Final written decision issued within 10 working days
### Special Circumstances
- Grievances involving discrimination, harassment, or whistleblowing require immediate escalation to a GP Partner and HR advisor
- Collective grievances (raised by multiple employees) follow the same procedure
### Record Keeping
All grievance documentation must be kept confidential and retained for 6 years. Do not place on the employee's personnel file without their consent.
